Safety Is Our Priority.
Since 1960, Crothersville-Vernon Township Volunteer Fire Department (CVFD) has provided fire protection and medical assistance to the citizens of Vernon Township. We have the latest equipment and training services, allowing us to quickly respond to each call we receive. CVFD protects the citizens and property of the Town of Crothersville and Vernon Township, including US Highway 31, State Road 250, 13 miles of Interstate 65, and assisting county agencies. Our residents have come to rely on us and we are proud to serve them. We take the issue of fire safety and prevention very seriously. At Crothersville-Vernon Township Volunteer Fire Department, the well being of our community is our ultimate goal.

Fire Protection
Our fire and rescue personnel are well trained to approach, analyze, and understand each emergency situation with close attention to detail, so we can quickly assess and act upon any crisis we encounter. Crothersville-Vernon Township Volunteer Fire Department (CVFD) provides fire protection to the residents of Vernon Township, and provides mutual aid coverage to surrounding townships.
Motor Vehicle Accidents
Our fire personnel are trained to respond to motor vehicle accidents in our area. Crothersville-Vernon Township Volunteer Fire Department (CVFD) covers approximately 13 miles of Interstate 65. Our firefighters have also received vehicle extrication training and hazardous materials training.
Medical Assistance
Crothersville-Vernon Township Volunteer Fire Department (CVFD) provides medical assistance for Jackson County EMS on EMS calls in Vernon Township. Our medical responders also provide mutual aid medical coverage to surrounding townships.
